Consultation Services (for Clients Outside MN & OR)

Personalized Support & Guidance from Anywhere

If you’re seeking trauma-informed relationship insights and strategies but live outside of Minnesota or Oregon, I offer consultation services designed to provide targeted support for couples and individuals. While consultations are not a substitute for therapy, they are an opportunity to receive tailored guidance on relationship challenges, trauma dynamics, and emotional resilience. The key difference is that consultation focuses on providing guidance, strategies, and insights on relationship dynamics and trauma-informed approaches that you can apply independently or with a local therapist. It’s different from therapy, which involves an ongoing clinical relationship for in-depth emotional work and mental health treatment. In our sessions, we’ll dive into actionable approaches and tools that you can use in your own healing journey or alongside a local therapist.

Couples Intensives

Deep, Focused Sessions for Transformative Growth

For couples ready to make meaningful progress in a short time, I offer Couples Intensives—4-hour deep-dive sessions available on Friday afternoons and weekends. These sessions provide an immersive space to explore and address complex relationship issues, work through blocks, and strengthen your connection. Whether you’re facing a specific challenge or seeking a deeper understanding of each other, a Couples Intensive can offer the focused attention and tools needed for transformative change

Key Differences Between Extended Sessions and Intensives

2-Hour Couples Therapy Session

• Pace: A 2-hour session offers extended time compared to the standard 50-60 minute session, allowing for a deeper dive into a specific issue or dynamic without feeling rushed. However, it’s still contained and focused.

• Focus: Typically, the session addresses one or two key topics or a specific negative cycle in the relationship. There’s time for both partners to share their perspectives, with some space for reflection and new insights.

• Process: These sessions offer a starting foundation for new work or build on previous conversations.

• Energy Levels: Two hours is a manageable length of time for most couples to stay engaged without feeling overwhelmed or emotionally drained.

Best for:

• Couples who want deeper exploration than a standard session but don’t need an immersive experience.

• Addressing focused, short-term issues or building momentum in ongoing consultations.

4-Hour Intensive Couples Therapy Session

• Pace: The longer format allows for a slower, more thorough process, where couples can explore underlying issues and patterns in much greater detail. There’s space to dig into multiple layers of emotion, history, and dynamics without interruption.

• Focus: These sessions often aim to identify and address core relational patterns or attachment wounds. The therapist can help map out cycles, guide partners through deeper emotional processing, and facilitate significant breakthroughs.

• Process: Intensives allow the therapist to guide the couple through unpacking injuries and experiencing repair conversations or practice new skills in real time.

• Energy Levels: A 4-hour session can be emotionally taxing, so therapists often build in breaks and moments to pause and reflect, ensuring the couple stays grounded.

• Impact: Intensives are designed to create transformative shifts or a deeper understanding in one sitting, condensing what might otherwise take several sessions.

Best for:

• Couples dealing with entrenched patterns or significant conflict that need a jumpstart.

• Situations where scheduling regular sessions isn’t feasible.

• Couples wanting to process a major event, like infidelity or a significant life transition.

• Kickstarting therapy or deepening work already underway.

What to Expect in an EFT Couples Intensive

An Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) Intensive is a powerful, immersive experience designed to help couples work through significant challenges like betrayal, attachment injuries, and recurring conflicts. These sessions go beyond typical weekly therapy, allowing for deeper exploration and meaningful breakthroughs in a shorter time frame.

During an EFT Intensive, we’ll focus on uncovering and understanding the emotional patterns that impact your relationship. You and your partner will learn how to express underlying needs, rebuild trust, and create a more secure, connected bond. These intensives can range from 1 to 3 days, tailored to meet each couple’s unique needs and goals.

Who might benefit? An EFT Intensive is ideal for couples experiencing betrayal, deep-rooted attachment injuries, or long-standing disconnection who are ready to commit to transformative, focused work.
